OCA Global presents this year a new report with the result of the calculation of the carbon footprint of the group's activities in Spain during 2019. This is the fifth annual carbon footprint calculation report carried out by OCA Global, in accordance with the UNE-ISO 14064-1 standard, giving continuity to the estimation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions derived from business activity. At the same time, a process of continuous improvement is being pursued with a view to progressively minimizing the environmental and climate impact of the group and its member organizations.
Specifically, the calculation has been made through a process of gathering information from 10 companies of the group, including its 51 delegations in the Spanish territory. GHG emissions generated directly by OCA Global (Scope 1) and indirect GHG emissions associated with energy sources (Scope 2) were taken into account.
Thanks to changes made in energy supply and optimization of transport means and routes, since 2018 and to date, emissions have been clearly reduced exceeding the target set for 2020. In 2019, emissions have already been lowered 177,601.95 kg more than the target, so the reduction plan created in 2015 has been successfully fulfilled.
