OCA Global accredited by ENAC as an Environmental Verifier

In the progress of the services provided by OCA Global to our clients, since June 7th we are accredited by ENAC (National Accreditation Entity) as Environmental Verifier with Number ES-V-0018.

OCA Global is the first verification entity accredited in Spain for the new EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) regulation. Thus, a Community Eco-Management and Audit Scheme based on the EMAS Regulation is a voluntary system that allows any organization, both public and private, to evaluate and improve its environmental performance and to disseminate the appropriate information to the public and other interested parties. It also takes into account environmental criteria with the aim of reducing the impact that the company may have on the environment.

OCA Global is accredited by ENAC for the performance of environmental verifications under EMAS III, consisting mainly of Regulation (EC) No. 1221/2009 (EMAS) and its subsequent amendments Regulations (EC) No. 2017/1505 and 2018/2026 (EMAS).

ISO 14001 certified companies wishing to join EMAS must:

• Conduct an initial environmental review.
• Demonstrate compliance with all applicable environmental regulations. The competent body in processing the registration of an organization consults the environmental authority on the applicant's compliance with environmental legislation.
• Identification of indirect environmental aspects.
• Develop and maintain an Environmental Statement and have it validated by an accredited body.
• Evaluate the environmental performance of the Organization.
• Involve workers in the continuous improvement of the system (Committee, Suggestion Box, etc.).
• Demonstrate an open dialogue with the public and other stakeholders.
