OCA Global has carried out the assembly supervision and inspection of the self-propelled cranes and lifting accessories that are working on the remodeling of Real Sociedad's Anoeta Stadium in San Sebastian.
These are two impressive self-propelled crawler cranes with lattice boom that can individually lift a maximum load of 650 Tn, with a boom height of 114 m. These cranes are owned by the Belgian company SARENS NV, which specializes in this type of lifting work.
The inspections were carried out during the assembly phase in order to check that the elements installed were in correct condition to withstand the stresses inherent to the service, and later, once assembled, the complete inspection was carried out, including the operating tests. The lifting accessories from which the load of the cranes is suspended were also checked.
The remodeling of the Anoeta stadium will eliminate the current athletics track, modernize all the facilities and expand its capacity to 42,000 spectators, with completion scheduled for the 2019-2020 season.
In this video the performance of the cranes in the placement of the first truss of the new stadium can be seen.
