INTERPORC
What is it?
It is a certification seal born to endorse the good practices carried out in matters of animal welfare, health, biosecurity, animal handling and traceability, in all links of the value chain of white-coated pigs in Spain. The Regulation has been drawn up by INTERPORC (Interprofessional Agrifood Organization of the White Coat Pig) in collaboration with certifiers, administration, scientists and experts in animal welfare, and is tested and validated by organizations for the protection and defense of animals.
IAWS applies the highest standards of animal welfare at the international level, meeting the 5 Freedoms and the 5 General Criteria for Animal Welfare set by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE):
- Animals free from hunger, thirst and malnutrition
- Animals free from fear and anguish
- Animals free from physical or thermal discomfort
- Animals free of physical or thermal discomfort
- Animals free to express their own patterns of behavior
To obtain this certification, the five principles must be met in the eight control areas that are audited:
- Alimentation
- Cleaning-disinfection
- Accommodation
- Health
- Behaviour
- Driving
- Control of farms and animals
- Control in the slaughterhouse and in all phases of the production process from gestation and rearing, fattening, transport, slaughter and manufacturing.

This product is aimed at all those livestock producers, slaughterhouses and industries in the pork meat production sector.
