UNE ISO 28000
What is it?
The UNE-ISO 28000:2008 standard was designed to reduce incidents that threaten the international supply chain safety. Its objective is to improve the security of the supply chain by analysing the risks and implement appropriate reaction plans.
In order to do this, it is required that the organisation evaluates the security environment in which it operates, that the company also determines if appropriate security measures are implemented, and if there are already other regulatory requirements that the organisation meets. This standard provides the organisation with a protection system against any intrusive event in the security of the supply chain, which is why the risk analysis and the definition of the scenarios are critical tasks in the definition and implementation of the Supply Chain Security Management System.

Who is it for?
The ISO 28000 standard can be used by organisations of any size – from manufacturers, exporters, importers, storage companies, to customs representatives or carriers (by air, rail, road or sea) –, at any stage of the production or distribution process, and practically in the entire supply chain that has contact with the product until it reaches the final consumer.
Because of its structure, based on risk management, the ISO 28000 certification is easy to integrate into any process management system such as UNE-EN ISO 9001, UNE-EN ISO 14001 or UNE-ISO/IEC 27001.
