UNE 150008 Environmental Risk Management
What is it?
This standard establishes the guidelines and steps a company must follow to evaluate and quantify the risks its activity causes to the environment, and which, at the same time, also wants to establish the bases for a more efficient management and facilitate the decision-making process.
To establish the environmental risk, several concepts are taken into account: firstly, the basis of an indicator event that points directly to the event that may cause an incident is assigned, and then a probability of occurrence is assigned to said event. The result of this combination are the scenarios of possible accidents, and the objective is to determine the probability of each scenario and the natural, human, and socioeconomic consequences and effects that would derive from them.

Who is it for?
The standard is aimed at all types of companies regardless of their size or activity, not only at facilities with a high risk, although it is ideal for those companies that are more likely to have an environmental accident because of their activity or dimensions.
