ISO 20121 Sustainability management systems for events
What is it?
ISO 20121 is an international standard for sustainable event management that establishes the requirements and guidelines for implementing a sustainable event management system.
Its objective is to provide a set of criteria for the different stages and activities of the event, such as design, planning, realization, implementation, review and subsequent activities.
The purpose of this standard is not the certification of the event, but the certification of the management system of the organizations in charge of the events.
Among the requirements it establishes are the identification and evaluation of environmental and social aspects relevant to the event, the definition of sustainability objectives and targets, the implementation of environmental management measures and the measurement of performance.
