S for Sustainable Tourism
What is it?
The S for Sustainable Tourism Label, developed by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE), allows any public or private tourism organization to certify the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
The aim of this seal is to encourage more responsible and sustainable tourism in Spain, and to promote the protection of the environment, cultural heritage and local socioeconomic development.
The S for Tourism Sustainability, is obtained when the tourism organization complies with at least one of the following two standards:
- Technical Specification for Compliance with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in tourism organizations.
- Standard UNE-ISO 21401:2019 Sustainability Management System for accommodations.

Who is it for?
Tourist establishments that can obtain the S Seal include hotels, campsites, tourist apartments, rural accommodations and active tourism companies, among others.
